In this article we will go over how to download the Silvertrac App and the setting requirements on an Android device to report and interact with the Silvertrac portal. We will also look at some App Lock options for company owned devices.
Step 1: Downloading the Silvertrac App
On an Android device locate the Google Play Store icon on the device home screen.
Press the Google Play icon and wait for the screen to load.
NOTE: When attempting to access the Google Play store for the first time, you may be required to set up a Google account. The account is free, but required to access the Google Play store to view or download apps.
If a Google account has already been set up with the device's carrier (or carriers administrator on the phone account), the Google Play store page will automatically appear. If not, you will be prompted to create a Google account before continuing.
The Silvertrac App for Android is only available via the Google Play store. You will not be able to locate the Silvertrac App for download via other device app stores.
Locate the Silvertrac App in the Google Play store by typing in "Silvertrac" in the Search Google Play search bar.
The Silvertrac App is identified in the Google Play store with the following icon:
Press Install to download the Silvertrac App.
Step 2: Set up Automatic Updates on Your Mobile Device

Open the Google Play Store app

Touch the Menu icon >> My Apps.

Apps with available updates are labeled "Update"

Select the Silvertrac App

Touch Menu and check the box next to "Auto-update" for the Silvertrac App.
When the Auto-update box is selected, the app will update automatically when updates are available.
Step 3: Turn on GPS Location Settings
In order to report with the Silvertrac App, the Location services on an Android device must be enabled.
Manufacture Models and Devices vary but you should be able to locate and:

Select Settings

Select Location

Toggle On the Location service of your device
NOTE: If your device has multiple GPS options such as Battery Save Mode, Standard, High Accuracy, etc... make sure to always select the High Accuracy Mode
